Thanksgiving Part One.

For Thanksgiving 2013 my family all gathered together at a beautiful cabin called the Watusi Lodge in West Virginia. The cabin was surrounded by trees, mountains, and not a single bit of cell service. It was a nice break from "real-everyday life". Of course I had my camera in hand most of the time and snapped ... oh let's say 300-ish pictures... Don't worry, you don't have to look at them all (you're welcome, family) but I will show you the good ones.

Enjoy!

^^Anyone want to figure out ways to jump into pictures with me? I love this cabin.^^

^^Homemade biscuits.^^

^^Big, big, big family means lots of food.^^

We had a smoked turkey and a deep fried turkey. (I'm actually not a turkey fan, but the deep fried turkey was not bad at all!)

There was also all the sweet potatoes you could possibly eat. I definitely helped myself to one of those. YUM!

This picture is when I was trying to get a decent picture with Cade and he was trying to get a good sarcastic picture with me. I love him anyways. (a lot!)

Well, like I said, I took only about a bazillion pictures and it might take a while to fully go through all of them, but you'll see them in Part II and maybe even a Part III but all in all this was a fantastic Thanksgiving.

Okay, now that Thanksgiving is done we can officially be excited for Christmas right? Right?..

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Veterans Day // Thank you!

A couple months ago my mom and I went to the Brimfield Parade for Veterans. It was really an honor to see just how many men and women have fought for this country. I always have been thankful and I always will be, but considering tomorrow is a day of recognition towards the Veterans I've decided that I will dedicate a post to them!

So many people showed up to support our Veterans. I loved it!

A local company made hundreds of these signs and donated them to Brimfield to use for the parade. That was pretty neat of them!

All the injured veterans rode that ^^ bus. I could go on and on about how amazing these people are, but keep in mind that many have sacrificed their lives as well as body parts or any sort of damage to themselves. And those who've made it through still have a smile on their faces. Thank God for those people. We need more of those people.

Go USA!
I am lucky enough to know and love many family and friends who have served this country (and are still serving) and if any of you are reading this, then THANK YOU! You are braver than me and deserve everything great. I know a simple blog post doesn't show a lot of appreciation compared to what you are doing but just know that I am thankful for you everyday!

Happy Veterans Day! And if you are still serving then come home safe!

What I'm currently loving...

In doing some blogging homework (secretly admiring a lot of popular blogs) I've noticed that bloggers do a ... blog segment? Series?.. Recurring post?.. However you want to call it, I've decided I want to do that too! And what better than showing everyone what I am currently in love with?

So in case you were curious (which I'm sure you were!). Here is what I really love lately.

The leaves are changing colors. I love this beautiful season.

Starbucks started using the red cups. And they've added Peppermint Mocha's to the menu. (My all time favorite drink from Starbucks... ALL TIME FAVORITE!)

I CAN WEAR HATS AND GLOVES! Guys, hats AND gloves.

I really love that this woman took time out of her day to take a little hike with me. She's awesome. And she is a more truer definition of a Mom than you will ever find.

...and finally, I love that it is already almost the weekend. I can definitely use a couple days off.
Happy (almost) weekend! I hope it goes by nice and slow.

Here is what's going on! // My great weekend.

This weekend has been a perfect one! The right amount of relaxing (much needed) and being productive! On Friday night I got to be the proudest older sister in the entire world and watch my brother graduate from Med School. He is going to be the best paramedic this entire world has ever met. Hands down! I'm so proud of you, Gary! Even though you're my only brother, you're my favorite brother!

^^Gara = Gary and Kara. ^^

(It wasn't just my brother who graduated... It was all of them ^^. So congrats to all of them. )

Yeah... That ^ Up there is a real life squirrel. Guys, I've been trying for weeks to get an up close pictures. Apparently today was that day. Thank you, Squirrel!

Those flowers are hanging on for dear life. I decided to snap the last of their beauty for the season!

The reservoir is really low so you can walk out where the water would normally be 3-4 feet.

I also got the snap this cutie and her parents this weekend. If you would like me to take pictures of your family, or you, or your pets... Whatever! Just email me or find a way to contact me. I'd love to help out!

Call me crazy // Pursue Family/Couple/Senior Pictures!!

I feel like I'm becoming more and more comfortable with my camera. I may not know every nook and cranny about it, but I'm figuring it out. I've decided that I want to try my hand at photography of humans! I've realized I love capturing moments, or emotion, or happiness... Whatever it is, it's something that I know is going to mean a lot to someone for a very long time.

I just recently played around with photographing some friends of mine and I kind of love the way they've turned out. I know that photography is a want and not a need and in this economy it's the last thing people want to spend money on... Well considering I am new to this, and I really, thoroughly enjoy it, I've decided that I want to do more... I want picture your life! (at a very, very, very low cost... Did I mention a very low cost?)

Check out some photos of the family that I photographed earlier this week and let me know if you'd be interested in something that I would LOVE to offer!

^^I learned that photographing kids is hard, but I like a challenge.^^

If you're still reading then maybe that means you're still interested? (Or you just really like this blog...?) Either way I've saved the best news for last! Cade knows how to use photoshop and he's agreed to help me with touch-ups. (He's a great boyfriend, I know!) and so with my pictures, you'll also get the relief that there will be no blemishes!

I really hope you'll trust me enough to take pictures of you and if it is something that you are interested in then please feel free to contact me somehow! You can message me on facebook, or you can email me at abshire.renee@gmail.com.

Thanks!

HALLOWEEN!

Kent held it's Halloween festivities last night and let me tell you... There were some great costumes! Cade and I dressed up as a Lumberjack and Lumberjill and went over to Clinton's house to partake in Halloween fun! After seeing all the crazy/fun/creative costumes, I think Kent should have Halloween twice a year! (Maybe, like in 6 months... Deal?)

^^A lot of "Manly" costumes were seen last night. I was proud to be a part of that!^^

^^I don't think they planned to be farmers. But it worked :)

Dr. Pepper guy!!^

^^I couldn't tell why they wanted a picture with construction girls... ^^

^Jessie Pinkman, B****H! (Breaking Bad. Please watch it!!)
I'm still debating on whether this was makeup or maybe a little real?... I'm not 100% sure I want to find out.
Halloween was a success and it's almost over (I guess the real Halloween isn't over yet...) But you all know what the day after Halloween brings, right? THE HOLIDAYS!!!! So, bring it on Thanksgiving and Christmas!
